HISTORY OF THE CLUB

In the spring of 1968 several owners and breeders of exotic birds, realizing the need for a bird club in the Knoxville area, started a club with the help of the University of Tennessee Veterinary College. The Club became official in the fall of 1988 with their first election of officers. It became known as the Tennessee Valley Caged Bird Club. In later years the name was changed to the Tennessee Valley Exotic Bird Club (TVEBC).
